Wifi to Ethernet?

Ok so I have a desktop PC which can connect to WiFi but the connection doesn't work right no matter what I do to it. Drivers or anything.
I found this product on Amazon.com
- http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00JFSOXTC/ref=olp_product_details?ie=UTF8&me=
I was wondering if I understand what it does and what its range is.
I want to plug it into the wall and get WiFi from my router and send an Ethernet cable from the device to my desktop PC.
If that would work, does it have enough range? I have an old laptop, (probably 2007) that gets 2-3 bars out of 4 in the same location as I would place the device.
Any help would be nice. I can do many things with a computer, but i have yet to understand networking.

Yes, that might work. However...

What is the current setup?
Distance from the main router?
Any possibility of a regular Cat5e cable?

Ideally, in terms of speed and stability, in this order (more or less):
Ethernet cable
Powerline
WiFi

A regular CAt5e cable is best. Direct from teh router to the PC
Powerline might work, depending on the house wiring condition. Router->powerline device -> house wiring -> PC
WiFi - Very environmentally dependent. You have to position the devices in the proper locations to get acceptable results.
What you linked to is a bridge. It will accept an ethernet cable, and broadcast a WiFi signal.

It says "turn a wired device into a wireless one". doesn't that mean I can run an ethernet cable from my pc to it? And no, I cant run a cable directly from the router. There is only 1 ethernet wall outlet in my house (where the router is).

Yes, I think you can run a cable from your PC to that. It then gets a Wifi signal from your main router.

However.....This depends a LOT on location and environment.
If the WiFi signal where your PC is sucks, and you put this in the same location more or less, it will get exactly the same crappy signal.

Connection sucks
Router ------------------------------------------------------PC

Connection still sucks
Router----------------------------------------WiFi device-PC

Connection doesn't suck quite so much
Router----------------Wifi device--------------------------PC

Well my internet speed is 1.5mbps (the fastest I can get here) so anywhere in my house gets the same speed internet on WiFi. Somehow I can stream 720p videos from YouTube haha!
My current setup is a laptop connected to my PC with an Ethernet cable. I really don't want to run a second computer just to get internet.
My only question is will this get the same strength WiFi signal as my laptop? I have a 2012 nexus 7 that doesn't get a good signal but my iPhone and other devices do.
Also note: I could put that device closer to the router, but not like half way.

OK, a bit confused here. Your PC gets its connection directly from the laptop? Why?
What type of service do you have? Is there an actual router in the mix, or just a modem?

No, I use my laptop as I would use this device. I just want to replace my laptop with this device. My laptop gets a WiFi signal from the router and my PC gets internet from the laptop via Ethernet cable.

OK
Laptop connected to one port. Works no problem
The repeater you linked above, connected in another port. It gets the signal via cable, and broadcasts WiFi. Your PC (assuming it has a WiFi device) can get the signal from that thing. Assuming everything is close enough.

No the thing is I can't connect to any of those ports because I am so far away. I was asking if the repeater can be use WiFi from the router.

Yes you can.
But if it is in mostly the same location as the PC (getting a crappy signal), it will also get a crappy signal.

I tried literately everything. The onboard WiFi card doesn't work right. I tried drivers and everything. The internet speed starts fast and then slows to a crawl until i restart the pc.. This is a better solution than fixing this. it's not anywhere on the internet either.
