CPU temp reaching upto 90c! ( AMD Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition)

Hi my PC spec Is
CPU AMD Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition, 3.4Ghz, 6MB L3 Cache ---
Ripjaws 8GB (2x4GB) 1600Mhz DDR3----
Motherboard Asus M4A87TD EVO 870 Socket AM3, 8 Channel Audio, ATX, USB3 ---
MSI R9 280 3G L3 --
1TB Hard Drive -----
PSU OCZ Fatal1ty 550W Modular PSU----
Case CoolerMaster Silencio 550---

Recently My PC temps have been spiking using cool temp the temps i get are

Idle: 35-40c
Underload High as 89!

My cpu doesnt have a the stock cooler it has got the alpin 64 pro not best but used to get the job done

I have tried applying new thermal past but that made no difference and now i have no idea what to do

R u using t stock cooler? If so get an aftermarket cooler instead - Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo for example. It'll make a massive difference.

sorry just re read n u r not using stick cooler - t above suggested would still. B a great option, but try re-applying yo thermal paste first. Also check yo case has appropriate airflow, with more fan power exhaling air from t case than inhaling

How hot is your GPU getting, MOBO, PSU? I would monitor overall system temp. If your overall system is hot rework all of your ventilation. Also clean out your dust filters and all of your fans and the inside of your case. If its still hot get some highly rated thermal paste off of newegg and get a coolermaster evo 212, or a noctura. Try sealing any holes in your case too, you want front to back air flow. :) GOOD LUCK!
