Why have companies such as Marval or movie companies stopped releasing movie games when they release movies?

So back in the day they used to release video game prier to movie sequels related exactly to the movie maybe a little different.
Such as Spider man 1, spider man 2, spider man 3, xmen 1 2 3 and Xmen origins wolverine matrix, it just seems since ps3 and xbox 360 movie games have declined and even completely stopped.
Whats going on
Disappointed that they didn't release a video game for the new "The wolverine" and Xmen days of the future past.

Well so called Xmen origins wolverine game had little to do with the movie...since you cough broke into a underground sentinel creation facility and destroy it lol.

Maybe movie games are no longer seen as wanted, for example many marvel movies and movies in general are moving on to making iPhone and android games around the time of release instead of having proper games for consoles!

Pirating has really impacted the PC gaming industry in general. But for consoles, I guess the problem is that in order for these movies game to be relevant nowadays, they need to be graphically on par with most modern games. Since that becomes harder and more expensive to do, I guess movie companies just gave up. It's a real shame though because I really enjoyed playing Spiderman and other Marvel games when I was younger.
