Hello people,

So here is the situation. I am a proud owner of an Asus DC2OC R9 290. And recently I bought another one, second-hand, from a local "ebay" and soon I discovered that the card goes insanely hot insanely fast.

To note, I didnt OC at all so both cards run as they are.

One card stays nice and cool at max 70-75 after long stress test, while the other in the first minute rushes up to 80-90 C. I didn't wan't to accuse the guy for selling me crap from the start so thats why im asking you guys.

So is it a hardware fault?

Thanks in advance

P.S: I tried driver sweep, reinstall and bios update, uber and silent modes and it is still happening.

did you try swapping the cards positions?? placing the new card might be causing it to suffocate....try swapping places...also i am hoping that your case has good inflow towards the cards and....is your power supply facing upwards?? is the second card and power supply fan fighting for fresh air?? though the last reason might not make much difference just have look...
if all fails call the guy for a refund!!
