I have the Gigabyte G.1 Sniper a88x motherboard with the AMD A6 6400k APU 3.90 GHz duel core processor and the Gigabyte Geforce GTX 760 4gb graphics card. I still have troubles running some games for example Battle field 4 and watchdogs
I am looking to buy a better processor, but the issue I ran into is the motherboard I own the g1 sniper has a fm2+ socket and I was looking at the AMD fx 8350 but the socket it requires is the am3. So I started searching for a good processor that can fit with my motherboard but from what I have seen and researched they are not going any higher then a 4 core. Would it be worth it for me to purchase a new motherboard that has the am3 socket so I can get the amd fx 8350? I also have the option to save up a little and go intel.
What would be the best option for me to improve gaming?

I would buy a 750k, a decent aftermarket cooler, and overclock it to at least 4.0-4.2. You will still bottleneck your GPU some, but it would be far better than what you have now. If getting a new motherboard and CPU, just go with an Intel i5 4460 and an H97pro4, or a 1230v3 with the same board.
