Hello dear Tomshardware-ers,

My friend is looking for a laptop to use for school. I told him I'd help and well I mean that I'd ask other people for help :p.

I haven't been keeping up with the newest laptops, I'd like some suggestions of it's possible.

Some things to keep in mind:
-Laptop will be used for school purposes (lots of movement) + the typical netflix + tumblr.
-15"6 screen
-Under 600$ (599$ is ok)
-A good processor obviously, don't care much for a graphics card.
-I was thinking Toshiba, Lenovo, Dell, or Asus (I'd appreciate other suggestions with good reasoning)

Fanks :)!

Now when you say good processor but don't care about graphic card, and the suggested uses include netflix and other internet usage , then you really DON'T need a fast processor , I''ll tell you the suggested spec:
i3 processor with hd graphics
1tb or 1.5tb hdd
4gb ram
15inch screen
good speaker output ?
It can be much cheaper than 600$ based on those specs .

Lenovo flex 15. Good for school purposes and watching vids

$460

I suggest that you upgrade the laptop with a 120GB solid state drive which can be bought for $60-80. So total cost would be $520-540

Crucial MX100 128GB is a good new recently released ssd for 80$
