well, optical drives are similar, try samsung or something. I have some games in dvd, but most are from online (download, legit not pirated) like steam or origin.
if the games are from EA you won't need the dvd after you registered the game, you can download the game next time you need to reinstall. check it, don't just take my word for it
Most new games can be bought online, without needing an optical drive. However, optical drives do help install some games, especially most older ones, and since they're only $15-20, not getting one won't save much money.

Hi
I am making a PC and some of my games are DVD games so do I need an optical drive or can I get them another way?
If you still have the CD Keys for the DVD's you may be able to redeem them via DRM (Steam/uPlay/Origin/etc depending on the publisher).
If it won't let you redeem them (some won't if they have already been registered), then buying an optical drive isn't much of an issue. You can get them dirt cheap.
