I guess I'm unable to do it this compaq pc has no graphics card I learned it's integrated or something also few more questions I am trying to record and save some ps3 game with n hdpvr 2 and it says that 256mb is needed on graphics card at least I ran dxdiag and seems my pc has 96.0mb integrated I'm sure does it borrow from the system ram to make that bigger?

Builtin GPUs shared the system memory as VRAM because they don't have their dedicated VRAM. If you are using integrated GPU then you can increase the amount of ram being shared with the GPU in the BIOS settings. It depends upon the system RAM that you have.

For 2GB System RAM, 256MB shared memory is recommended
For 4GB System RAM, 512MB shared memory is recommended
For 8GB+ System RAM, 1GB or more shared memory is recommended

Yeah I went to bios by pressing f2 before boot up and didn't find anything like that only an AGP thing instead, that was able to select different MB's but nothing on shared memory I wonder if there is different bios menus? I'm thinking of just getting this card that has 256 MB by itself on dell dimension 3000 250 watt PSU will this work?

There are four models of Dell Dimension 3000. Pl confirm which one do you have. Don't update the BIOS unless you are facing any problem whose solution is in that BIOS update.

Really, I thought the 3000 was the model anyway I went into BIOS menu and could not find anything about integrated graphics I don't think my dimension is able to do that so I got a new graphics card

It's 256MB I have a 250 watt PSU which can run it, in BIOS I saw an option "primary video controller auto or onboard" is that how I install the card in BIOS?

onboard means integrated graphics card.

Either leave the Auto setting intact or use the second option in the drop down list. It could be like PCI or something.

Well, I searched and searched in BIOS and the closest thing I could find to "graphics related" is primary video controller that's why I was thinking maybe I should update the BIOS to the newer version to get more settings or something but if I don't have to then I don't really want to also there was this AGP setting with three settings xx MB, 156 MB and 256 MB? I guess I will not have to go in the BIOS when installing the new card just leave it on auto.

nothing else under the AGP but another "video" option was "primary video controller auto and onboard".
