Hello!

I am looking to purchase the i7 4790K Haswell on release, and I want to build a new system around this processor, specifically for Premiere Pro, After Effects, Davinci, etc.. I'd like to try and stay under $6000, including monitor (color is important). I plan to have a Raid 10 for my media drives, an SSD for boot, and probably a third drive for scratch/cache. What SSD and HDD would you recommend for this function? And what case would be appropriate to house all these drives on fan cooling with a single video card?

I've never built a system specifically for video production, so I need help on knowing what to focus on, what motherboard will work well with the Haswell, and how 'extreme' I need to go. I won't be doing any 4k editing, but I want very fast HD rendering and workflow with many visual effects. I would like a nice 27' 16:10 monitor with nice color, but I'm having trouble choosing, so any advice here is appreciated as well.

I saw these questions in another thread, so I figured I would answer them too just in case it helps.

Thank you!
-Dana

This is the build I would go with but I haven't included a monitor as I am not too familiar with 1980x1200 monitors
