I am aware of SAmsung vs Hynix threads but I had to RMA my GTX 770 and then sell it as I ended getting a EVGA GTX 780 SC/ACX which unlike the 770 uses Hynix memory. I know about the RAM shortage last year and the fire in the Hynix factory so some GTX 780 got another type all together. but I do notice that the GTX 770 2GB running at 7010MHz seemed to have better Memory usage. easy to tell in a gam like Borderlands where the usage on the 770 was never over 600MB on the 780 it is around 600-700MB. feedback please

Generally the only thing that the VRAM brand affects is overclocking and how much voltage you need to get to a given frequency (and heat from that). It should not affect usage.

Are you sure the settings are exactly the same?

I was just saying that the GTX 770 2GB memory bandwidth is under rated. I did not OC my GTX 770 and it seems to me that the GTX 780 while using 3GB 6000MHz on a wider bus, 384bit, has higher Memory usage in game. I have not tested every game yet. but Borderlands , Borderlands 2 BFBC2,all use more VRAM with the 780 so far. I thought maybe Samsung does make faster memory. IDK. I hope this changes as the resolutions increase past 1080p

Memory usage and memory bandwidth/speed are completely unrelated.

Also, different memory running at the same speeds should perform identically.
