Hello all.

I've recently reinstalled my Win 7 as my 4 yr old pc was freezing.
I've updated a number of drivers with a lot of help from others, I tried myself but there were options on drivers that I wasn't sure of :)

Is there a driver finding program which both works and does not push malware in it's installation that I can get to save me the headache of finding drivers in the future?

Also I used to use Acronis to create a back up image of the primary drive, are there any good free programs around that I can use for this purpose?

Just look on the vendor support site for a utility to update drivers from them. If none there, just seach on there for your model #. I don't think there is any universal driver finder that does not have some sort of added on spyware or will let you actually use it without paying.

Thanks, I ran chkdsk, a dialogue window popped up, scrolled very fast and disappeared after about 15 seconds, on reboot the pc appeared to struggle with graphics until stabilising after a minute.

I get the feeling nothing was really checked in just 15 seconds????
