Everytime I start my PC, there's a chance that with the start of Windows my usb keyboard will hang for a moment before turning lights on and functioning again as it did during post. While it hangs there Windows does the connecting/disconnecting noise, once or twice, shows a error message "a device has stopped working", and then it eventually comes back on and everything is normal for the rest of the day. Does anyone know why that happens? Does Windows need to load drivers for the keyboard everyday? Ok, thanks.

Should not be acting like that, test the keyboard in another USB port and test the keyboard with another computer. If another computer works fine but no USB port works properly on yours, check for a BIOS and Chipset driver update for your system. If that does not fix it and other USB devices are OK, try another keyboard.

It took me a while to answer because I no longer have my computer, its sitting in a shop awaiting new parts from guarantee replacements. I hope this will be solved. I did have drivers and BIOS updated, and the same repeatable problem with different keyboards. Thanks for the response.
