thats very powerful heres an amd setup
FX-9370, r9 295x, and 32gb ram
and an intel setup at a lower price
i7 4770k, gtx 770, the motherboard is a bit overkill try to improve the cooling more

A CPU "expert" buying unlocked i7 CPU for gaming with a $300 motherboard and no cooler.

Are you sure you're an "expert"?

What resolution are you gaming at?

I might be rendering things too, but not as much as gaming

get a water cooler and buy a $100 motherboard, cooling is more important if you're over clocking

No. A motherboard is just as important. NEVER cheap out on it.

Would suggest getting a newer Z97 board, and an i7-4790k. The new i7s are faster, and and OC a whole lot higher, especially if you're water cooling. And because it was mentioned in the thread... I would never go AMD if you have the money for an i7.

It's out already. But you don't need an i7 for gaming tbh.

^agree. Also if you want to step it up to a gtx 780 Ti, the MSI gaming card is on sale for $599, just thought i'd point that out.

If you're in the UK, I think it's already released. But if you're in the states, the i7-4790k released on the 20th, with pre-orders already available I believe. Z97 boards are also already available, regardless of region.
