Windows 8 wont connect to the internet

My computer wont connect to a network anymore . This happened after i updated to windows 8 . It wont even connect with the ethernet. Iv tried alot of things and nothing so far has worked and i already checked my router my ipad will connect to the wifi

Makes sure your network cards are not disabled within Network and Sharing. From the windows 8 start menu type control panel and press enter. Double click Network and Sharing Center. Click Change Adapter Settings on the left. If any of your network cards say disabled right click them and enable them.
