Approximate Purchase Date: Whenever 4790k comes out

Budget Range: $1500-$2000 without peripherals (monitor, mouse and keyboard). Stay as close to $1500 please. Only go past it if you think you'll be compromising too much.

System Usage from Most to Least Important: This is just going to be a workstation primarily premier pro and after effect effect.

Are you buying a monitor: No

Do you need to buy OS: Yes
Please note that if you're using an OEM license of Windows, you will need a new one when buying a new motherboard.

Preferred Website(s) for Parts: Newegg.com

Location: Houston, Texas, USA. We have Micro center and frys.
Parts Preferences: Intel CPU 4790k. I was thinking of going for 4930k but that's just way too much money

Overclocking: Yes

SLI or Crossfire: Maybe

Additional Comments: I would be editing in multiple places so portability could be a factor. However, if it compromises on parts then don't do it

And Most Importantly, Why Are You Upgrading: I'm just editing on my laptop currently and it keeps overheating and shutting down :(

Solution
Victor Nguyen,

For video editing, rendering, and effects processing, I would suggest an LGA2011 system as this has double the memory bandwidth of LGA1150, and can be upgraded to 6, 8, 10, and 12 core CPU's whereas LGA1150 is limited to 4-cores.

In my view, the best GPU for this use would be a 384-bit, and with a lot of CUDA cores- Adobe is CUDA accelerated, but there are not so many today. . If you are a little adventurous and a good shopper, The GTX 580 3GB, would be excellent. These are sold used for $150-200. A good current model is the 256-bit, 1534 CUDA GTX 770 4GB for about $400.

This shows liquid CPU cooling as video editing and processing can be running the CPU at full performance for a long time.
