Not sure if this is normal

I used the AI Suite 3 to overclock. When I opened my task manager it shows my utilization going crazy and my speed stays mostly at .80Ghz. Not sure if this is suppose to be like this.

Solution

Task manager, for one. CPU-Z on the first tab at the bottom.

Your CPU is underclocking simply because it isn't doing a lot. Don't worry about it.

Open more programs and you will see it go up.

OC'd it to 4.3Ghz.

Open a ton of programs. Does it go up or does it stay at 0.8 Ghz?

Just because you OC'd it means that it is going to stay at 4.3 GHz all the time. They move all around, 4.3 is the max now that you OC'd it to that.

I know this. It does go up to 1.3Ghz. The utilization is all over the place, it's mostly around 10%-30%

What CPU is this?

Throw everything you got at it, game and everything while leaving Task manager open. You are using task manager, I assume?

I5-4670K. Not currently gaming.

Wow, awesome overclock then! Congratulations!

Try running a benchmark... I bet all it is doing is throttling because it's not being used.

Check your AI Suite again and see if that has clock information.

AI Suite 3. I5-4670K.

Yeah I would just run through all the core clocks, multipliers, and voltages and stuff, and make sure it is all right. Use some other CPU usage viewing programs, I think you should be fine.
