Hi, so I was in the middle of an intense game of Battlefield 3, and all of a sudden my PC just turns off, Instantly.
I can't figure out why this is happening, I hope that one of you can help.
I monitored the temperatures of my GTX 760 and Core i5-3570k (non overclocked and stock cooler) using Speccy
and the highest the Core i5 got was about 75 degrees, and the highest my GTX 760 got was about 70. Apparently they are relatively normal temps?
Please help this has happened a few times and it's getting annoying, I don't want to play again in case this is damaging my system.
Thanks

I think for that chip the BIOS will cut it off at 79. Also make sure its not your GPU. Install MSI Afterburner and set the fan control speed in that your fans are at 100% when you hit 70C.

It was under heavy load?
Is 75 really enough to make it cut out? I thought it was about 100 for an intel i5...
This never happens on any other games
thanks

75 degrees Celsius is 167 degrees Fahrenheit... that seems a bit too hot for a cpu, and a bit high for a gpu. Try getting a can of compressed air and give small bursts of air to the fans of your CPU and GPU and case. if that doesn't bring down your temps, go out and buy Artic Silver thermal paste and apply it to your CPU as I hear that it brings down temps by 10 degrees tops.

Also, try lowering the Graphics settings on BF3, go into Task manager and close any running programs that aren't essential. Maybe your CPU is processing too much while BF3 is going on
