I would like to use my PC for running all games at at least medium @1080p while recording while retaining a sustainable 45fps. My friend will be editing but I may have to sometimes, so which CPU will run games better for longer?

More about : athlon 760k 4150 gaming light editing recording

The i3 4150. Try to get an H97 board, so you have an upgrade path to broadwell.

I don't know, I usually would recommend the Intel, but since your are recording while gaming, and since you may be editing, I might have to say the 760K.

What games are these? Multi-threaded new games or older games?

I'll be buying new games the day of release and review for YouTube. The hyperthreading might help with recording as recording is pretty low resource though?

Check this out: http://www.bit-tech.net/hardware/2013/11/14/intel-core-...

The i3-4130 beats the A10-6800K (basically the 760K + the iGPU) in nearly everything. It performs better overall, all while giving you an upgrade path to better parts, like the i5's. Buying an 760K will have almost no reasonable upgrade path.

The i3 will have issues recording. It will perform better in gaming and day to day tasks, but once you are recording or editing, the 760K will have the advantage.

Honestly, your best option is to pick up an i5-4430 for just $50 more than the i3-4130. That will perform excellently, and will be able to record games great.

Another vote you go with i5-4430, Will definatly help with recording over those other 2 options.
