Hello there. I can;'t find my Lenovo IdeaCentre K410 OEM Windows 8 recovery discs. I planning on getting them before I run into a problem. I called Lenovo software support and they asked me for $199 to re-activate the warranty and send me the OEM discs. I noticed that there are many Lenovo OEM Windows 8 recovery discs on eBay for very cheap. My question is, could I use any Lenovo OEM Win8 recovery discs on my IdeaCentre K410 or I have to buy an specific one? If there is an specific one, which one is it? Where could I get them cheaper than Lenovo? Help is greatly appreciated!

If your Product Key is not on a label on the base of your Lenovo then its probably embedded in BIOS. I would imagine any Lenovo recovery disk which supports Windows 8 will do, as long as it can reload your OS. This one stands out...

However, that apart, have you considered creating your own backup?

Create USB Recovery
Good idea to create a Recovery drive, especially if you upgrade to 8.1 as there have been reports of problems with the Recovery Partition after the Upgrade. Ideally use a USB pendrive as they are faster and more reliable than creating multi DVDs. Use Disk Manager to determine the size of your Recovery Partition and purchase a USB pendrive accordingly. (16 Gb usually suffice). Simply type 'Create' at your Start Screen. Choose Create Recovery Drive from Settings and check the box for Copy Recovery Partition. If you have 8.1 pre-installed Create Recovery Drive will appear on a list without having to go to Settings.
