battle between friends, which CPU is better for gaming?

. by the way will his 9590 bottleneck 290xs in crossfire?

in 90 %of games the i5 will win amd cpus are not built to take on intel they really are for multitasking which they hold there own or blow the intel away. but gaming is amd weakness. Now while this is true the amd chips can do a good job and get good fps. just not as good as intel period. games even new ones like stronger cores the 9590 has weak cores. but still capable.
Both would do fine and none would bottleneck. I myself use an AMD FX-6300 6 core 3.5GHz and I can play BF4 just fine at Ultra with about 64.7 FPS. However, Intel's mostly win in this department. What I don't get is why do so many people hate AMD?
