Hi all.. im currently using this Cooler Master GX 550W Bronze 80 Plus PSU with my current rig.. I don't know but for some reason people here saying that this PSU sucks and is known for damaging hardware. Am on tight budget and can't buy another one right now..does anyone have any Good/Bad experiences with GX 550w PSU Please Help!

Reason i'm asking is im worried. I just recently build a new rig and I don't want to fry any of the components due to the malfunctioning of the PSU!.... Plaaning to upgrade to gigabyte gtx 760 rev.2.0... Plz help me.

According to the specs, the +12V rail is rated at 44A @ 528W. That should be sufficient for a GTX 760.
Here's a review of its little brother, the GX 450W: http://www.jonnyguru.com/modules.php?name=NDReviews&op=...
The master gives it a passing grade, so maybe your GX series isn't the same one in the tiered list. I'd go ahead and use it.

On rare occasions, a cheaply made PSU may self-destruct and take something else out along with it. It happens. But most of the time, PSUs simply loose a capacitor or diode and quit working. Personally, I've never had an inexpensive PSU damage any of my builds, but others say they have. Generally, if the PSU is too weak, it simply will cause performance issues. Or cause shut downs/reboots. Always look for the UL label (or your country's equivalent) on the PSU to be assured it has been rigorously tested in a lab before marketing it. And buy a brand name like Corsair, XFX, Seasonic, Antec, FSP, etc. And check with Johnny Guru's site for the final word on it.
