Hi,
Currently I own a Netgear Nighthawk (R7000) router. I want to extend the WiFi to all of my house where currently some devices are Ethernet and some wireless only devices cant connect.
I researched some WiFi extenders and found that they are not very efficient losing about 50% of bandwidth.

So I have decided that adding a second router would help. I would like to connect the second router to the first by Ethernet cable so they are on the same network. Is it possible to connect to the second router and still be able to access the Readyshare service provided by the first Netgear router?

Thanks in Advance,

Before adding the router into your network you would do the following config with only a pc connected to one of the LAN ports

1). Disable the dhcp server
2). Assign it an IP address different to that of your primary router e.g. if your primary router is 192.168.0.1 then assign your second router as something like 192.168.0.2. This is so you can still access it's web interface from your network.

Something you can try, but I don't know if it will work, is to give the second router the same SSID (wireless ID) and password as your first, just make sure the channel it operates on is different from your first router.

When you do add it into your network connect it through one of the LAN ports, ignore the WAN/internet port.
