hello everyone, today i'm about to buy a new heatsink for my CPU, i already have the the thermal paste, but i'm a little bit confused, because when you buy one, it comes with the thermale paste applyied on the bottom of the heatsink, so should i leave it like that or apply thermale paste on the CPU ?

You can use the heatsink as is, but you need to leave the CPU bare. If you do use aftermartket "TIM", then make sure you scrape the stuff off the bottom of the heatsink. One or the other, don't use both.

Some heatsinks come with paste already applied, some don't. In either case, you need to completely clean the existing stuff off the CPU before putting the new 'sink on.

As already said, the process is simple;
First of all, you have to clean your CPU from the old paste.
Then if the new heatsink comes already with the pre-applied paste, install it as it is.
If the new heatsink comes without pre-applied paste, you will need to put the paste on the CPU (just a small dot in the center, more or less the size of a grain of rice).
