Corrupt files when installing Windows 7.

Well, yesterday, everything was all good and well on Windows 7, however I couldn't run Titanfall for some oddball reason, so I decided I was going to upgrade to Windows 8.1. When I got into Windows 8.1 I was having all kinds of problems (monitor resolution wouldn't be right, drivers not installing correctly, it having to do a system repair every time it rebooted for not shutting down right, when it did, etc)

So I decided to go back to Windows 7. Now when I am trying to install Windows 7, I am getting a problem during the "Expanding Files" part of the install about having corrupt files? I was having an error eariler in the process about a "CD/DVD driver is missing".

I am using a Kingston SSD. My 2TB storage hard drive is not plugged up during this process either.

I am currently on Linux Mint but want to be back on Windows 7.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks

Hi

Re windows 7

Is this a genuine Microsoft system builder DVD?
Or an image ISO downloaded and put on DVD or USB?
Or manufacturers recovery DVD set made on PC?

Above relating to media corruption or DVD drive problems

Below relating to hardware problems

Have you run memtest86 or similar as faulty ram can cause strange problems?

It was an ISO burnt on a DVD. This is a disc that I have used before and have had no problems with.

I haven't tried memtest yet. However I am currently trying to install with one of the memory sticks removed from the system.
