I recently got invited to the battlefield hardline beta.

ive been monitoring my FPS and hardware loads with MSI afterburner.

it is telling me that my CPU is at 90-100% load.
while my GPU is stuck at <50% load.

CPU: a10-5700
GPU: radeon 7850 2gb

its possibly a case of bad bottlenecking.

im planning on upgrading my cpu to a 8320, would this solve my problems?

Solution
Yes, if the CPU is maxed out while your GPU is not, then the CPU is a bottleneck and upgrading it to a faster processor should improve utilization of the GPU.

The AMD FX-8320 is an 8-core machine that benchmarks about twice what the AMD A10-5700 benchamrks. However I would also suggest you make sure your game can multi-task to use all the cores, otherwise performance won't be as effective.

I have a close friend with the same CPU and a twin frozr 7850 2gb, and with my 4300 and 7770 I get better framerates. Pick up a hyper tx3 and over clock (easiest install ever. Took me like 30 seconds), or aim for an upgrade. The 8320 is great, but I would get a 8320 and a 212 or a 6300 and a all in one CPU liquid cooler. On my tx3 I got 4.3 fhz out of my 4300, the fx chips oc great for the most part.

Oh yeah. The 5700 is locked... Lol.. A cooler would still be quieter... when you get the 8320 please buy atleast a tx3. It makes a huge difference and is so easy to install. I am getting better framrates than him and you with a less powerful gpu. You will go from playing at medium settings at 1080p in world of tanks at 40fps to high-ultra at 50. Makes quite a difference. 8320 is nice, 6300 is great too, just OC.

Not bad, but personally don't really like the blues (lol), and I have seen 8320's with the 212 evo (go with the 212 turbo, or get a 2nd fan), hit 4.7ghz on a 8350 under 70 degrees, but that depends entirely on the batch of your chips. What motherboard?

yeah i changed my mind to the 970a because of its 8+2 power phase design

Yep. That's a good choice. What case do you have?

Yep, all about your preference. The corsair obsidian 350d is good for micro atx and so is the 300r in a full tower config.
