Does anyone know if ASRock H61M/U3S3 motherboard with latest BIOS update will support Intel i5-3570K and especially the Intel Graphics 4000?

Solution
Save it to your HDD and unzip it. Put the unzipped file on a USB drive with nothing else on the it then install the USB to a USB2.0 port and boot into bios and follow the instructions in your manual or you can download your manual.

I say USB2.0 because I have had problems in the past with USB3.0 ports. Maybe not a problem with your board, though.
The board specs say that it supports HD Graphics 2000/3000 with Sandy Bridge CPU's. Your CPU is an Ivy Bridge and it supports the 4000 graphics. Not sure if there will be a conflict.

Don't know what OS you have to check the info on the BIOS updates??? Go to the web site I linked to above and click on "download." Input your OS and see what the BIOS update info has to say on each update.

Thanks spooky2th, I checked the websites previously and saw what you did about graphics support only to 3000. I should have been more detailed in my post.

What I would like to know is if I updated my BIOS from P1.30 to the newest listed I've found..P2.40, would it then support HD Graphics 4000? I have Win 7 OS.

I haven't been able to find out on ASRock site and thought someone might have been through this and know answer.

I've built a few computers, but never updated BIOS and was a little leery of downloading anything about the BIOS until I bought the processor for upgrade. Don't want to initiate a BIOS update prematurely and didn't know if downloading BIOS info would do that.

Thanks,
Hoyt

Looking at your MB's web site I couldn't find any BIOS uodates. Updates usually have a brief description of what they are fixing or upgrading.

Otherwise you might want to email asrock support. Or like you said, someone that knows for sure here on @ Tom's.

I went as far as this download site and think if I were ready to update my BIOS which is now 1.30 I would need to download either 1.70 or 2.40 from the link below. But, I don't know if I download the BIOS update if I can just look at it and not update it or if by downloading the update the BIOS update process has started and I can't back out.

OK..Thanks, for all the help. I can't get my USB3.0 ports to work..I tried yesterday connecting a USB2.0 hub to both of them, checked to make sure they were wired right and still wouldn't work. Thought maybe they only work with USB3.0 rated hubs.

Thanks again,
Hoyt
