I just got a ssd and a few other new components. I read that I would have to deactivate windows on my hdd before I install it onto my ssd. What I did was deactivated it from my hdd and I got a message saying it was deactivated... then i Installed my new mobo, cpu, and just plugged in my ssd... I put in the start up disk and put in my product key which i deactivated from my hdd... I went through the start up and everything is working fine so I decided to reboot and plug my hdd in... I booted to windows with my ssd in prioriety in the bios and I did some internet browsing. but just a few minutes ago i was brought to a settings menu saying that I have to activate windows and when I go into system and under windows acivation it says windows is not activated. Apparently it says the key has already been used....

Is there a reason you're leaving the Windows installation on the HDD? Your best solution here would be to install Windows on the SSD. Backup whatever data you have on the HDD and then wipe it clean. Then, put the info you backed up back onto the HDD.
