I can either use a GTX 650 or the GTX 550ti.
The 550ti has 2GB, the 650 has 1GB.

I know the 650 is newer, and the clock speeds look better, but I'm not sure which will actually preform better.

Which would give me better fps in games like Planetside2?
Also, I do a lot of 3D stuff these days, and I assume the extra video ram on the 550 would help. But the 650 has more cuda cores...

Both are EVGA.

Any help?

He wants to know if the gtx650 or the gtx 55ti is better for what he is going to do with it...

Not asking for which would be the best for the price.

Anyways after some google search i've found that the 550ti is in general a bit faster than the 650.

It uses more power but if power isn't a problem well i think i would go for the 550ti.

But it depends i guess, the rest of your system, some are more compatible with older cards than others. So it's hard to say with 100%.

I would personally go with the 550ti, not even because of the 2gb but because of the average faster memory speed and higher pixel rate than the 650.

For working on 3d stuff and gaming the 550ti should be a good card.

I've never tested. Try to find people with nearly the same setup as you and see what they think about it.

Check out this page for some specs.

these are cards I already own, so yeah, not asking that, 6R1M01R3.

I'm putting in a new mobo+processor (i7) soon which Is why I'm asking. I'll have to stick in the 550ti and see if it does any better then.

Yeah if you already have the cards best is to test them with your system.

Run a game and 3d apps to render something and try that with both cards.

One of them could be better at rendering than the other but won't have as good performance in games as the other one.

It's hard to say. Hope you can get it to work ;)
