I am planning to play GTA V on 1920x1080

GPU : Nvidia Geforce GTX 780 (Inno3D Herculez 2000 Edition)
Motherboard : MSI Z77A-GD65
CPU Cooler : Corsair H90 140mm
RAM : 8GB @1600
PSU : Corsair HX650 Gold +12 @ 54A
HDD : Seagate Barracuda 2TB 7200 RPM

No official system specs have been released for GTA V, I imagine it wont be much higher than GTA IV though considering it is built using the same engine and similar graphics. In which case your pc is more than enough to play it. It would have to be very badly optimised for your pc not to play it well.

The system requirements for the game haven't been released yet so no one really knows the correct answer to your question. The 780 is a good card though so I should think you'll be able to play it on High settings at least. Maybe not Ultra but probably not far off. The best thing for you to do is to wait for the system requirements to be released and then compare it to your system. Or wait for gameplay of people playing it using the 780 and see how it runs on theirs.

Hope this helps somewhat.

The key thing here is you have to think back to GTA IV. It was a terrible port from the console version that ran/runs horribly on everyone's PC. If they do that again, we will all have performance issues. If they do a nice job, you should be fine.

What quality do you guys think I'll be able to run the game at, assuming the pc version isnt some sloppy port (their last big port on pc was max payne 3 (which was optimized fantastically and runs smooth on my rig at high quality):

Processor - AMD FX 6200 3.8 ghz 64 bit 6 core
Memory - 10gb DDR3 1600 mhz
MOBO - AMD 970
GPU - Nvidia EVGA Geforce GTX 660 FTW Signature 2 3gb edition.

Considering how well Rockstar did with the porting of Max Payne 3 on the same engine as GTA5 (I know its different in an open world game), and we dont even know if GTA 5 is indeed a port, how well should I expect?

I've gotten high/ultra to run very smooth for Crysis 3 with this setup, however, Watch Dogs and Assassins Creed 4 (both Ubisoft, who doesnt seem to care much for pc optimizing) have both had problems. AC4 runs much better now on maxed out settings than the time I finished it a few months back, from what I guess is new drivers and further optimizing). Watch Dogs performs badly however. I have to lower the overall texture quality to medium, with high requiring 2gb or VRAM, and ultra requiring 3gb. Many people have had this, along with many other problems, as the game was apparently not optimized hardly enough. I can turn everything else to max, and get pretty smooth gameplay.

So could someone who's an expert tell me if they think I'll be able to run GTA5 smoothly, and if it's probable I can get good performance with high presets.....

Personally I think they're going to go all out and make GTA V look amazing on PC so I think system requirements are going to be quite high whether they optimize it or not. I'm guessing you'll be able to play it on Medium/High settings with a 660 FTW.
