Gigabyte vs ASUS motherboard

Solution

It's mentioned in the specs, 4 pin fan header x4. CPU_FAN is 4 pin because it's for PWM fans, CH_FAN1/2/3/etc are usually 4 pin as well (Depends on the tier of the motherboard I think)

A lot is down t personal preference - they're both good boards

Personally I've become frustrated with Asus since my last two builds hav both used them - the boards hav been excellent, but the support not so - such that I've resolved t go MSI or Gigabyte next time

Also, if you are going to pay the $189, may as well grab this one http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813132116&cm_re=z97-_-13-132-116-_-Product.
Has better onboard audio than the Gigabyte and Intel NIC, it's overall better than the Gigabyte.

It really depends on where you live. One brand can be pain in the ass at one location but another one can be great.

About quality I'd go with Gigabyte z97x-ud5h at anytime. Far better onboard audio, better overall feature (like more sata, usb ports etc) and way better VRM.

Well I am willing to spend the extra $40 if it is really worth it. Is the audio that much better? The specs seem pretty close to me but again I dont know how much of a impact the small differences have.

I love my Asus motherboard, but the customer service is awful.. I was talking directly to the motherboard "specialists" and it was as if they were googling the answers to my questions as I talked to them.
