1st time pc builder so i assume that I probably made a hardware error like not enough power or something like that, when i look at the motherboard detector thingy in the bios my gpu isn't picked up, i don't know what to do and i have spent all night putting it back in, adding drives, deleting, doing it again , i feel like i did something wrong when i was building or maybe the gpu isn't compatible. Should i just send it back or the mobo if the pci port isnt working?
Really would appreciate it, thanks.
The power might be an issue but i unplugged all the fans and checked again and it still didnt show so ye. Thanks

Solution
I have an R9 270 which is the same card and I had the problem when I did my build. I uninstalled the intergrated drivers in Device Manager and restarted mu PC, now there was no driver and I went to AMD site and downloaded the AMD Driver AutoDetect and it installed it. Now it's working good :)

yeah, all of them are detected, saga ports, ram, all of it, sometimes the usb ports say there isnt anything there such as my keyboard and mouse, but i can still use them, power goes to them, the same thing with the gpu, power goes to it and the fans spin and stuff but i cant detect it and i can only use the intergrated graphics and stuff

Try going to the Device Manager on the OS and try to detect for new hardware. It might also be a bad connection with the Mobo. If you take out your GPU, check the power pins, see if any of them are bent, cracked, missing etc and check the slot on your mobo. Make sure no dirt, dust or anything is in that slot. Even the tiniest hair can make a bad connection.

No problem mate.. I will help you step by step...
Right Click on Computer > Manage > Device Manager > Display Adapters and select the intergrated driver and uninstall it.
After doing that go to AMD's website and download the AMD Driver Auto detect and install it. And you are done :)

The cable that you get is an Molex to 6-pin convertor. You can use it if your PSU doesn't have the connectors that the GPU needs but your PSU has. You don't need that convertor. Have you put your 6 pin and your 8 Pin from PSU into the GPU ?
