As the thread says.

Just stuck a Crusial M500 SSD in my PC.
It detects in bios, it shows up when I go innto control panel, the driver is updated, by all means it works fine, its detected by windows, the driver is up to date as I said...

But its not showing up in My Computer.

As I got a Norwegian windows 7, its abit hard for me to follow some of the steps ppl say I should do, as its in English.

Any help would be of great value.
There was some talk of hard drives not showing when they are empty, and you should uncheck it in a folder, but the I cant seem to find it.

Solution
Just changing the port on the motherboard where I stuck the cable fromt he SSD fixed everything.
Not sure what happend, but suddenly windows both detected my SSD and formated it in a heartbeat.

Thnx anyways for your replys.

The "working (busy?) for a long time" and then crapping out suggests you have the interface setting incorrect in your BIOS.

Try setting it up using "Standard IDE" settings and make sure it's being properly recognized in the BIOS.

Trying to set anything else then AHCI in the bios, results in a blue screen when windows is loading.

Every time I go innto disc management, and choose new volume, and create a partition and format, it works for a minute.. if not 2 or 3, and ends up in a error message.
Sayin something like I need to update the disc management...

Im not sure, Im a bit lost.
Gonna work a bit in Bios

Glad to hear you found the problem.

You probably have a separate "Marvell" SATA controller along with the standard controller on your MoBo and accidentally plugged your SSD into it. A common mistake.

Regarding Windows "hiding empty drives", if you open the File Explorer (Logo-E key combo) and hit Alt, "T" (for Tools) then "O" (Options), on the "View" tab, you'll see a check box for "Hide empty drives".
