Looking to upgrade from my gtx 570HD to a GTX 780. Egghead's power supply calculator is telling me I need only 581 watts. I have a Corsair TX650M 80 plus bronze. 581 watts sounds low to me...I thought the GTX 780 required at least 600. Also should mention that I will not overclock this GPU. Is my current power supply sufficient?

Here's my rig

-Processor: i7 2600k (LGA1155)
-Memory: 8gb ddr3 corsair vengance
-dvd
-MB: asus P8Z68-V Pro Gen3
- SSD

Solution
Yes , you have more than enough power.

A GeForce GTX 780 needs 42 amps on the 12v rail and a 600 watt power supply.

Your power supply has the proper power connections and 54 AMPS ON THE 12V RAIL.
For a single GTX 780 581W actually seems kinda high. A 780 needs 250W for itself, the 2600k will need about 100W, so overall i would expect your power draw to only be about 450W. A TX650M would be plenty of power for it.

The GTX 780 suggests that you have at least a 600W PSU for the entire system, it does not need close to 600W for itself.
