If I run a computer with fx 8350 oc'd to 4.6ghz and a msi r9 290x a few hours a day for gaming and video watching, how much would it cost in terms of electricity bill?

Solution
No can say because each electricity provider charges something different. between my gaming tower and speakers, just these 2 items, cost me around 35 a month just to run these.

According to my own calculation, in my province its about 7 to 11 cents per kwh depending on the total usage per month.
So the increase for me would be about 20 bucks more per month?
Damn, thats actually pretty substantial since the average residents pay around 70 a month for electricity.

The 290x needs about 300W at full load, so your system would probably pull down about 600W at full load. Lets average everything out to 4 hours a day at full load, thats about 72 kWh. A normal estimating price for NA is about 15 cents/kWh, so it would cost you about $10.80/month.

Well I have an older Phenom II 965 oced to 4.073 with a 7970 with 6 extra fans, case lights, sound card 2 HDDs 1 SSD, 5.1 surround. Due to the software for my UPS i can enter teh exact price per Kilowatt hour and it does the math for me depending on use. My system is not as energy efficient as your is.

I would love to pay 15 cent per lol. I pay 18. I'm getting boned :(
