Fraps, no gameplay lag but the footage after is noticeable choppy

I have fraps installed on my HDD 7200rpm hard drive but I download all my video to my 120gb SSD and I still get very choppy footage after recording and viewing the video with window media player. The file format is AVI

Please help, Thanks

  1. Use VirtualDub to compress and encode the video stream. The bitrate of native Fraps is simply too much. There are a number of tutorial videos that tell you how to do it.

    Thanks for replying,
I have tried virtualdub but when I launch a video in it the video is pretty much running 1 frame per second and the audio is totally choppy with it too

Huge difference thank you very much! The quality is slightly lower, is there anyway of improving it?
  5. Not really, but that's what you get for Handbrake's compression quality. Assuming you upload to YouTube it won't make a difference as YouTube messes up video quality anyway.
