SSID is basically the name of your wireless connection. Its the name you see in windows when you are trying to connect to the router/internet.

If you don't know the password then its likely on the bottom of the device, should be a white sticker. Password = WEP/WPA/WPA2 code. I only used that because its what windows refers to it as.

That 88D889 would be the SSID.
So you already have a wifi connection, right? If so just tell him your SSID (the name of your router that you connect to on your laptop) and your WEP/WPA/WPA2 password (whichever you happen to use)

If you are using a cable from your modem to your laptop then you are going to need a wireless router.
