Im looking for a 15.6 gaming laptop and my budget is up to 1450$. Im concerned about the weight of a gaming laptop, and would like to hear from someone that has experience with one.
i want the most bang for my buck and a gpu of at least gtx 860m.
Here are my 2 examples

And a more compact but lower performance one:

Thank you in advance

I've had a high end gaming laptop for over a year now, it's the Clevo p170EM. This was kitted out with a i7-3820qm and GTX675MX. This is a 17" behemoth which weighs in around 8-10kg (16-20lbs). That's my estimate, I've never actually measured it. It was a bit thicker than your Lenovo or MSI. It's never really given me any trouble.

However, at an event earlier this year where there were MSI laptops on display and many people trying them out I heard these things had issues with overheating as the couldn't expel the heat quick enough. I imagine the Lenovo probably suffers from the same as it is so thin. You may need to look to additional cooling to help with this but for now I would be wary about going for either.

My main concern...

The lenovo looks much higher build quality, lighter, cheaper, but also a bit weaker. Most desktop replacement gaming laptops are around 10 pounds which I wouldn't like. Slim gaming laptops such as the lenovo are closer to 6 pounds but varies depending models

My main concern is that you're looking on ebay for these. It's not exactly somewhere I would go if I'm looking for some comeback, should something go wrong, a year or two down the line.

here are your options, from possibly the best site in the USA for laptops.
All the GPUs range between 860M 870M and I even found a 780M if you're willing to go slightly over budget.
of all of them, the gigabyte is the lightest - at like 5.5lb or less? its also around 2kg in weight, which is to say, very light
the heaviest will be any of the force barebones or the MSI GT60 dominator. However they all back some mean raw power in the gtx 870M
the Sagers are the middle of the pack if you like, you can upgrade them to 870Ms for inside your budget, they're not as bulky as MSI's but still quite heavy.

for all gaming laptops I strongly recommend getting a decent cooling pad. Take whatever heating claims from manufacturers with a bit of salt, because these things get real hot. (unless its the Asus ROG laptops, they run so cold and quiet...)

The thing about the gt60 dominator and the lenovo ideapad y50 i posted is that they got relatively good reviews (heat wise), especially the gt60 dominator with its turbo cool feature, (i dont really give a crap about fan noise as i game with a large over-ear headset).
thank you for your assistance as i understand weight isnt a real problem so ill go for something heavy duty.
