I have an Acer Aspire V5 which was mid way through a windows update when an impatient girlfriend decided to pull the battery out. Now no operating system can be found on boot up.
We have managed to get the files off using a LiveCD, and went to recover to factory setting by using the inbuilt partitions. When we hold ALT + F10, nothing changes. I have tried using Hiren's Boot CD to repair the MBR in hope this would help, but no luck.
When booted to a LiveCD we can see the files on the recovery partitions.
Is there a way we can use the files which are already there to make a recovery disc, or fix the ALT+F10 functionality?
