Hey guys!
I recently installed Warcraft 3 on my computer and I have some issues with the fps drop when there is a big crowd of units, fighting, dying, or anything.
When I play the simple game, my fps starts with a stable 60 (this is the max. fps in Warcraft 3 I think). Then it starts to get lower when I have many units, and in huge fights it even goes below 20 sometimes, like 15-16...
It is even worse when playing huge custom maps, for example the Game of Thrones map. There I start with around 25-30 fps, and it drops down to 10 sometimes.

I've had some fps issues with other games too, for example Skyrim and Bioshock Infinite, and Dota 2 but all of the problems disappeared after I turned off Turbo Boost and now they run smoothly with ultra settings. (and these games are not, cannot be compared with a 11 year old game...)

My computer:
Alienware 14m, NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M 2GB, 8 gb ram, 33 ssd (on cache), quad core cpu.
I have Windows 7 64 bit.
I turned Vsync on-and-off in the NCP, tried triple buffering high performance nvidia processor ofc, and some other things. I tried modifying the regedit, but the only thing I achieved was mouse delay so I changed it back (I have no clue which one caused it so I changed everything back).

Please help me!

ps.: FPS freak me out in general. Dota 2 runs only with around 40 fps, I have NO CLUE why. I mean... my graphics should be able to run these games with high fps shouldn't it?

The GeForce GT 650M is going to be somewhere in the ballpark of a regular, GTX 460. I would not expect it to perform ideally in all situations, especially if you have a full HD screen and are running your games at that resolution. You might have better luck finding comparisons for your game scores by looking up some GTX 460 results.

Good to know, thanks!

That doesn't help though with Warcraft 3.. GTX 460 is still more than enough for this game. I mean... Warcraft 3's system requirements are a 8 MB video card, 128 mb ram, and a 400 mhz Pentium 2 processor.
So comparing my graphics card to this game's requirements is obviously ridiculous, the problem cannot be hardware related.

There must be a problem with my computer's settings or software, this is what I wish to find. I don't have any clue about optimizing a computer to a game, thus I asked here.
