what psu would be ideal for this build

i am gonna make a pc not very high end i guess
here are the specs
ASUS M5A97 LE Motherboard
Sapphire AMD/ATI Radeon R9 270X with Boost OC 4gb
AMD 3.5 GHz AM3+ FX 8320 8 Core
Cooler Master Hyper 212X Cooler
Kingston HyperX DDR3 8 GB x2 (16gb total)
seagate barracuda 1tb hdd

i am guessing a 500 watt psu would be ideal for this.am i right?

Yeah, as long as it's a good quality supply a 500 would work fine. I would shop for something that's fairly cheap and/or on sale in the 500-600 watt range. Lots of people like to recommend the XFX 550 in this range since it's fairly cheap and a fairly well built power supply.

The Radeon R9-270X requires a PSU with 24A on the +12v rail and a 500W psu minimum
I would suggest you get a 550 - 600w or thereabouts PSU for some headroom from
seasonic/xfx or any psu from the corsair TX,HX or AX range of PSU's as they all have high grade japanese capacitors
