Hey people
I'm gonna buy one of those 2 next week and i need to know if the EVGA worth's the extra 50 euros that is priced from the Asus.
Also if anybody knows which is better for possible Sli in the future, i have small mb and i need the thinner one., and also i always have my pc without cover so i don't want much noise from the fans, so wich is the quieter gets in the equation. Gimme an opinion please :)

Thank you

Solution

Cooler & quieter → Asus DirectCU ll GTX 780

Thinner & short → EVGA SC w/ ACX GTX 780

Better performer at stock settings→ EVGA GTX 780

Greater overclocking headroom → Asus GTX 780

Cheaper→ Asus GTX 780

Choose the one which has the more favourable aspects you need the most ;)
I'm assuming Asus GTX 780 is the DirectCU ll version of GTX 780 and not the refernce design.

If yes, then my vote goes to Asus GTX 780

TechPowerUp's measured temperatures during their review of the following GeForce GTX 780 cards:

NVIDIA Reference Design GeForce GTX 780 3 GB Card
Temperatures: Idle 37°C, Load 81°C, Load + OC 81°C

ASUS GTX 780 DirectCU II OC 3 GB
Temperatures: Idle 35°C, Load 67°C, Load + OC 68°C

MSI GTX 780 TwinFrozr Gaming 3 GB
Temperatures: Idle 30°C, Load 73°C, Load + OC 76°C

Gigabyte GTX 780 WindForce OC 3 GB
Temperatures: Idle 37°C, Load 72°C, Load + OC 74°C

EVGA GTX 780 Superclocked w/ ACX Cooler 3 GB
Temperatures: Idle 34°C, Load 74°C, Load + OC 76°C

Judging by the temperature chart Asus DirectCU maintains lowest temperature and is also quitest among others so that will be the preference.

Damn why Acx is so bigger? I don't know even if i can fit her to my tower! Anyway thank's again for your analytical answer, you are very helpful!

Asus DirectCU ll GTX 780 Dimensions→28.7 x 14.73 x4.06 Centimeter

Edit: Couldn't find dimensions of EVGA GTX 780 Superclocked w/ ACX cooler on EVGA's website so I checked here
http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B00CYIQ00K/ref=mw_dp_mpd?pd=1

Turns out it was wrong :pfff:

These are the actual dimensions of EVGA GTX 780 Superclocked w/ ACX cooler→ 26.67×11.17×3.81 cm.

If you want the one which is coolest & quietest & with greater overclocking headroom then Asus DirectCU II GTX 780 is the way to go.

Also I don't think that 25mm of more thickness will create hinderance in SLI

Oh yes, that makes more sense! Also it makes more sense to raise higher temperatures then the asus since it is overclocked and smaller. And higher temps in sli will be problem, i guess i'll take the asus, i already have the 670 asus and i'm happy about it, low noise and temperature all the time!

Actually the Acx is faster, has around 100Mhz faster core, but i can easily overclock the Asus for 100Mhz. I agree for the quality of asus, i have the Gtx670 for almost 2 years and i never had any issues!

You know what's amazing? If you google the same question most people were suggesting the Acx a few months before. Today everybody is suggesting the Asus! And it is also 50euros cheaper!!!
