Help with video issue

Ok, I'm building my first rig and running into a video issue. For reference I have an ASROCK B85 PRO4 motherboard with a XFX TS550 PSU and an XFX R9270x video card.

So I initially booted the computer with the video card in and the computer turns on but the monitor says no signal. I tried 2 different monitors with multiple DVI and HDMI connections and no luck. This was trying to use both onboard video and the gpu outputs.

When I take the GPU out and boot it works just fine. The GPU is plugged in properly and the fans spin up when it's in. So figuring it was a bios issue I've toggled the setting between PCI express and onboard video. Still no luck. When I have it set to onboard and put the GPU in the computer displays ASROCK, but it never gets to the boot screen where you'd press DEL to enter bios, and it just basically freezes at that screen.

I've tried uninstalling the intel video driver, and still nothing. Unfortunately the mobo doesn't seem to have one of the built in onboard speakers so I'm not sure if it's beeping when booting.

Last thing I just did was reset the CMOS to see if that would help, but now it's back to no display at all with the video card installed. I'm at a loss here and feel like it's probably something stupid I'm not doing, so hopefully you guys can help. Thanks.

Solution
Many of the last gen mobos dont have the onboard speaker, you have to plug one to the CH_speaker header, that usually comes with the chassis, or you can get one in a radio/electronics store. You can only use the onboard video with a GPU plugged to the system if you force it from bios, otherwise the signal output is set to pci on default. Without a pci GPU attached, then onboard works as default (provided you have onboard graphics)

Yeah I may have to run out to get a speaker. I understand what you are saying, the problem is when I plug the GPU back in and boot the computer I'm getting no signal at all, and I have exhausted my troubleshooting options. What else can I be doing to try to get it to work?

If the GPU is plugged in the first pci xpress slot, has the power cables connected properly, the fans are spinning, the video output could be dead. But, you also mentioned that the onboard graphics arent working, which could lead to a problem with the motherboard's chipset. I could only recommend you to try plugging that GPU in another compatible PC to check if it is really broken.

The onboard graphics are working fine as long as the GPU is not plugged in. Once I plug in the GPU is when I get no display at all. Unfortunately I don't have another PC to test it in.
