i have a problem with : bootmgr is missing and i lost my cd , if i buy a new harddrive will the by gone? thank you. PS its a western digital hard drive and my pc is a asus.

There may be nothing wrong with the HDD. Bootmanager is a sector writtten to the disk at time of formatting. Did you recently do any disk swapping or cloning or dual boot setup? Did you leave a disk in the DVD drive? A flash drive in the USB port?
