When comparing consoles, sure we can debate every aspect of them, but it really comes down to the games for most people. Which console offers the most games that someone wants to play, that is the one that they should get.

With that being said, Microsoft really burned me with all of their original attitudes of the Xbox One and no amount of back-pedaling will ever get me to purchase the Xbox One or Xbox Two through whatever. I still like my Xbox 360 but not as much as I used to and after having issues with Microsoft's resetting my auto-renewal over and over again, I cancelled my Xbox Live service and don't have much use for them anymore. It seems that Microsoft is continually telling gamers what they should want and then after not...

It seems that Microsoft is continually telling gamers what they should want and then after not reaching the sales numbers, they back-pedal. The service for Xbox Live on my Xbox 360 has not been the same since the Xbox One came out either, with issues of losing connectivity to Xbox Live many times for extended periods of time. Of course there are other reasons, such as no backwards compatibility, price vs performance issues, and Kinect (sure it is now un-bundled, but now it will have less support...and it is pretty much Kinect Beta 2.0).

Sony almost did decently with the PS4, but the lack of backwards compatibility is unforgiving to me this generation. It is also unknown if they had plans of following along with Microsoft's Xbox One plans or not. At least they offer a decent piece of console hardware for the money.

Backwards compatibility was a huge issue for me this generation because these companies are already releasing remakes of last ge games, rather than leading with strong new titles. At this rate, this generation of games for the Xbox One and PS4 are going to be at least 25% remakes of Xbox 360 and PS3 games, and probably just as many remakes of older games. It feels strictly like a cash grab and is not rewarding consumer loyalty in any way. Each system could have had emulation for the other games, but opted not to. Between offering remakes of the games as well as streaming services, and <chuckle> digital downloads of those games, they can get paid once again for the game on your shelf.

I went with a gaming PC and a Wii U. Nintendo has made their fair share of mistakes this generation also, but they rewards their loyal customers with Club Nintendo Coins, plenty of cheap and and some free downloads through the year, backwards compatibility, and free online service. Not to mention they offer games that hold a lot of fun regardless of your age. Sure I really like playing games like Fallout 3, XCom, and others, but Nintendo games have that bit of magic...not to mention the polish and has fewer glitches.

Gaikai is the a internet/cloud streaming company that Sony purchased in order to incorporate streaming into the PS4 features. They plan on offering a service with a monthly fee for the ability to stream games to your PS4, which is horrible compared to offering backwards compatibility for those games that you already own. Its like paying multiple times for the same games. I just don't agree with that policy. Sure the game streaming feature is nice to have, but it should have been a feature in addition to already having backwards compatibility. Just my opinion anyway.
