I think i got bottlenecked

My house got an internet package with 5mb/s.I think i got bottlenecked because im using wifi. I wanted to switch to ethernet cable,but problem is my pc is quite far from the modem.Its about 5 meter.If i switch to ethernet cable,will i get a better performance?

Yes you should get better performance from an ethernet cable. Have you went to speedtest.net and ran the test a few times and compared the results for wired vs wireless to see if there is a performance difference. I personally tried wireless internet with my PC and the speeds were fine, but decided to run a ethernet cable the 50ish feet and the internet is faster for me now.
