I have cloned my original 120gb SSD to a 240GB SSD and the system does not recognize this as the boot disk after I reboot.
Can anyone offer any suggestions?
When I try to use the system recovery disc I receive a message this is not the correct disc for this system.
I change the BIOS settings to point to the new SSD and it still does not boot.
Very frustrating.
I thought I followed the instructions.
Any help is appreciated.
Thank you,
Mike

I finally got it to work by doing a sector by sector clone using the free version of EASEUS copy software.
I shut down the PC and plugged the newly cloned SD into the original SSD port and went into the BIOS and made this the boot drive. The BIOS is a nightmare on this motherboard.
I just did another HD to SSD clone on my ASUS P67 motherboard and it worked on the 1st shot.
I just unplugged the hard drive after shutting down and everything worked as it should.
I will NEVER by another ASROCK motherboard !!!

Thanks to everyone for their help,
Mike

What cable did you have routing to the 120gb ssd? May sound odd, but try connect the old cable to the 240gb ssd. Thats at least how it works in laptops - 1 boot bay and 1 bay for more storage.

Lets say you had cable1 going to 120gb ssd, and cable2 to the 240gb ssd - swap them around.

No dice. Still does not recognize the boot on the new SSD drive.
What Cloning software do you recommend?
I have tried EASETodo and Paragon without success.
Sometimes the Sandisk 120gb SSD drive is not recognized either (Original OS drive).
The cable clip does not lock on this SSD drive.
I have never ever seen any other SSD drive that does NOT lock the cable when you connect it!
Thanks,
Mike

I have actually only tried cloning once before, but i used something called "ghost" booting from an usb device with windows XP.
That ghost program is pretty good though(a little unexplaining tho)

Sounds like it is not software problems, but rather hardware problems.
Try to get a 3rd sata cable, and a new sata power cable for the ssds - just swap them out. It could be that the sata connectors was damaged - you said it was hard/tight fit for the cable.

Make sure to check the motherboard connectors too for any damage.

Rounding it up: You need to check if this is damaged
SATA data cables
SATA power cables
SATA connectors on the SSD
SATA connectors on the motherboard.

If it looks like nothing is damaged, try to replace cables one after one, if still not working, try a fresh install of windows on the 240gb drive - you already have the clone on 120gb ssd.

Haven't had a single problem with cloning from ssd to ssd, not even hdd to ssd. What should be wrong? Really?
