In a dilemma for new pc. Transitioning from Dimension 3000 (XP- ah, good times, gives me tears).
Am buying a prebuilt custom one as they are cheaper and higher quality than what Dell offers (Dell Hell, anyone?). So I don't know what to choose?
I would like the best system for speed, stability and compatibility ( such thinks such as my Lexmark 7100 all in one and Samsung ML-2010 (old but stupidly fast laser printer). Will these work with windows 8.1 and all my other peripherals/software (they all work with 7)
Since windows 8 support is only 3 years longer than 7, and want max game performance, I don't know what to choose,
All replies with justification greatly appreciated
Thanks all!

Windows 7 is obviously the front runner as its been out for years, although I've had no issues what so ever on Windows 8.1 and even before they made all the interface changes I enjoy the faster boot times, the smaller install size, and all the charms shortcuts.
