Random BSOD (possibly norton)

My first ever built computer has been running fine for about a week now (typing this on it). Yesterday night i decided to let norton sweep my computer for viruses (why not). Anyway during that my computer crashed and wen to a BSOD telling me to search whea_uncorrectable_error. So i searched it and it seems like Norton antivirus has caused similar things for other people. ps my computer keeps randomly crashing on almost any program including the most basic ones (even chrome). Lastly my os is Windows 8.1 64bit

I'm always amazed at how many people that should know better still runs shitty, bloated Anti-virus products.

Get rid of Norton, use the Norton uninstaller on their site to remove every last vestige of it.


Then install Microsoft Security Essentials. Unless you are running Windows 8.x where Windows Defender (new name for MSE) is pre-installed.
