Does this screen support my gpu?

Monitor: ViewSonic VX2252MH 60Hz 21.5" Monitor
Video Card: MSI Radeon R9 270x 2GB TWIN FROZR Video Card
Gigabyte GA-H97-D3H ATX LGA1150 Motherboard

Yes, HDMI or DVI connection. Confirm the products i linked just incase. 270X is great for 1080p as well.

As long as you don't put your PC into sleep mode, it will be fine. Otherwise you may need to disable the feature if it has issues.
