My dumb brother was doi g something on the computer while I was asleep and now everything opens with windows media center. Im not sure what he was doing, he wont tell us; but im pretty sure he was pirating something. Now every file opens with windows media center, and you need to close it twice. I cant even access the internet or system restore now.

What could be the problem/fix


I could give a picture but not sure how to on my phone

If you're on windows 7 restart your computer and press and hold the F8 key as your computer restarts. Choose to boot into Safe Mode and try to system restore from there.

You may have contracted a virus. The first thing a virus tries to do is prevent you from removing it by disabling system restore.
Your best hope is to boot into safe mode by pressing F8 and selecting a restore to a previous good time.

Take a look at control panel/ folder options.
Look at the options and reset to default if you need to.
